MAMCOAANA 2004: Toronto!Coming to MAMCOAANA is like taking a dip in the fountain of youth. For a short period every year we allow ourselves to relive the youth that was! And how sweet it is! If only that feeling of youthful abandon, carefree and fun filled days can be bottled up, and get a dose every so often, all of us will be able to enrich our lives. MAMCOAANA forum provides us with an atmosphere that I was reminded of the words on an elderly gentleman's T- Shirt who was hiking along the C&O canal in Wash DC. It read "Ex-Marine: BE ALL YOU USED TO BE". Our time in Toronto was wonderful. The CME was incredible. Dr Nanda did a superb job of running the show and no one felt the ripples of transition. Shiva Gaur an avid golfer, dedicated person of intense spirit let the days at Toronto roll so fast that we were wistful to realize that it was time to go. Younger talented guys like Sushil Rattan kept the atmosphere alive and kept everyone engaged and entertained and did let the feelings of the old guard like Urvashi Kapoor and evergreen R.D.Kapoor get hurt. What a guy! We wish for lots of talented folks like him. Many others are not letting themselves loose as yet. And getting the Webmaster Nikhil Goyal of the MAMCOS e Magazine Spandan.com from Michigan to come and participate was a true stroke of genius on the part of Sudhir Ranjan. Sudhir Ranjan is one dedicated soul who is so steeped in the Maulanian spirit that his last words (Hopefully not for a long long time) will not be "Hey Ram" but "MAULANA AZAD". I think the only other person to match his fervor is Dr Jagdish Dang. Who else would have ever made the effort to bring our newest partners and friends from "University Medical College"? We all owe a sincere thanks to the group from Univ. Medical College to give us a chance to be with them for a few days. And on a sad note our own Tejinder Singh and Inderpal lost their daughter
in a tragic accident soon after their return from Toronto. We feel their pain
and anguish and pray to the dear Lord to deliver a sense of healing. What marvelous
parents they are for donating all the organs of their daughter that in turn
will give life to many. What a noble act of selfless spirit. Life is truly
a trying journey! Rajeev Malik |
